The first fair and the fateful plate
At my first fair, I met some wonderful people. Among them was Natasha and her husband, who fell in love with a plate from the Enso collection . We talked about the Wabi-Sabi philosophy and how the plate carries the symbol of perfect imperfection . They bought it, but on the way home – a clumsy bag and the plate falls to the floor. It breaks into three pieces.

I immediately told her, "That's how it was meant to be. This plate is destined for Kintsugi." And now, two months later, I finally feel the energy to dedicate myself to its healing.
Kintsugi is not just a repair, but a healing process
I recently opened the TSUGUKIT package and looked up the video instructions. And that's when I realized: Kintsugi is not just a technical repair. It's a healing process.
You can't just spread urushi paste, glue it, sprinkle with gold powder, and move on. Kintsugi takes time. Care. Mindfulness. Like healing the soul, a plate requires special treatment, step by step.
I have just reached the Kokuso mass . The plate has been in the urushi box – the ceramics "hospital" – for ten days. I am going slowly, gently, enjoying every step. I am looking forward to the day when I will tell Natasha that the plate is healed, that it is beautiful.
And I hope I'm doing a good job. This is my first time using urushi lacquer.
